Bookworm

***UPDATE I have added a few more pictures, enjoy!***

Would you think this is a library?

I may be many things, but one word people will not use to describe me would be a nerd.
I am not a bookworm by any means, though I love hanging out in bookstores, and I do enjoy writing, however I would probably never describe myself as 'well read.'
Last place I would get excited about would be something that had to do with books.

Last night, en route to my layover hotel in downtown Seattle, we passed by an amazing looking building that I believed was either a grocery store or some kind of a retail establishment.

Why I thought this was a grocery store....

Turns out, the building is Seattle's Public Library.

Within the amazing work by Rem Koolhaas is a library that would blow anyone's mind away.
Contemporary style and an impressive selection of literature are not their only draw, the ten story building with a 'spiraling' floor that is classified by the dewey decimal system is also their main attraction.

Beautiful artwork on the lobby floor leading to the children's section

I wandered through this enormous building in awe, wishing all libraries looked like this.

Sorry for the non-post....

Sorry for those following me, as well as anyone stopping by, I have been slacking off posting here.

I wilt like a lettuce during hot season and I have been meaning to do some fashion posts but I can't get myself to go outside and pose for pictures. As I don't really care for those I-took-a-picture-of-myself-in-the-mirror photos, I refuse to just snap pictures in the bathroom mirror.

As soon as the temp drops a bit, which I am hoping is within next few days, I will post new stuff here!

It's like 96 degrees here and HUMID.
Ugh....

Workin' it

I have been looking for a stylish cargo pants that doesn't make me look like I am going into work at a safari park.
I am a fan of the skinny leg/jeans look as I am tall (5'8") so I was naturally looking for a skinny leg style, not baggy 'comfy'.

Luckily for me, this year, the selection is endless and I was able to find a style I like in two different materials.

The style is extremely versatile and the two different materials can take me anywhere from baseball games to nice dinner all summer long, and with some knee high boots, it can take me through rest of the year.

Take Me out to the Ball Game

U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, IL

During the summer (though it actually starts early April and extends into September/October) I LOVE going to baseball games.

Chicago White Sox vs Kansas City Royals

I enjoy just watching the game on TV as well -- basically, I am a huge baseball fan.

Today, my family and I went to the U.S. Cellular Field (formerly Comiskey Park) to watch a ballgame.

Going into the stadium...

Thanks to the clouds, it wasn't as hot as I anticipated it to be, and because of the bath towels they were giving out as part of their 'Beach Day' promotion, the little droplets of rain that came down on us were hardly noticeable.

Happy 4th!!

I will be flying cross country the night of 3rd, and the biggest perk would be to be able to see some of the early celebratory fireworks going on everywhere, literally.

I remember the first year I started flying, and was in the air on July 4th.

The pilots allowed me to stay in the cockpit for a few minutes while we passed a populated area and was able to see the many many miniature firework displays going on 30,000ft below us.

I just thought that was one of the neatest things I was able to witness.

Happy birthday, America, thank you for giving me the opportunity to have some of the best experiences I can only imagine if I lived anywhere else.

Stay safe everybody!
